Welcome to Contract Simply!

Here are the main things you can do on Contract Simply as a contractor:

  • Upload and manage invoices
  • Invite your subcontractors to upload invoices 
  • Package and submit draws
  • Claim funds and get paid
  • Sign lien releases

The software is super easy to use and works on whatever device that you prefer: your phone, tablet or computer.

To get you started, you'll be invited to a new project via email. Simply click on the link in the email, set a password for your account, and you are ready to go!

With the Contract Simply tool, bundling invoices to submit draws, claiming payments and signing lien releases have never been easier. Let’s walk through the basic steps of these three activities. 

Submitting Draws

The first step in submitting a draw is to create an invoice. Click on "Projects" in the navigational menu to see a list of all projects on your account. Select the project you want to work on.

On the Project Summary page, click on the blue “Add" button on the righthand side of the page. Then, select “New Invoice” from the dropdown menu.

On the next page, you will be prompted to enter a title and description for the invoice. 

Next, fill in the line items that belong on the invoice. 

After entering in the amount due for each line item associated with this invoice, you will need to select an option for signing a Lien Release.

If you select the first option, a copy of the standard lien release on the Contract Simply platform will appear for you to review and sign electronically.

Attach any documents or photos you want to be included in the draw request. Then, click on the blue "Submit Invoice" button at the bottom of the page.

Tip: You can also request invoices from subcontractors on the Scope of Work tab, which will make packaging the draw quicker for you and allow the sub to get paid faster.

After you have entered all of the necessary invoices, it is time to submit the draw request. Simply click the blue “Add” button and select “New Draw” from the dropdown menu.

When the "Request New Draw" box appears, enter a title and description for this draw request. Then, select the invoices you want to include in the draw, add your e-signature, and click on the blue "Request Draw" button. 

It's that simple! You’ll be notified when the draw is approved and the funds are available for withdrawal. 

Getting Paid And Signing the Lien Release

This part is even easier. When you receive an email that the draw has been funded, click on the link provided in the email. This will prompt you to log in to your account, at which time you'll be taken to the Invoice Page. If you are ready to withdraw the money, click on the “Release” button. 

At this point, if you are acting as the subcontractor for these amounts, you’ll be prompted to "claim the invoice" (only takes a second). Once you press the “Claim” button, you’ll be taken to a new page that prompts you to sign the lien release. 

On this page, electronically sign your name and select whether you want the money to be transferred to your account or mailed via check. You're done!

If you are not acting as the subcontractor for these invoices, your subcontractor will be able to log in with their own credentials to claim the payment.
